Sadly, Migda entered into eternal life early Friday morning at Calvary Hospital, a woman of Christian faith who devoted her life to helping those around her. She will be sorely missed by her only child, her devoted daughter, Amanda Y. Cartagena, her sister Migdalia Alicea, brothers Luis Alicea, Victor Alicea and sister in law and close friend Margie Vasquez', and her sisters in law Jeanette Alicea, Mirta Alicea, and Tammy Alicea. As well as many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by and her partner William Camlin. Migda was predeceased by her husband, Ernesto Luis Cartagena, and her parents, Luis and Guillermina Alicea, and two brothers, Felix Alicea and Neftali Alicea.

Visitation will be held at The Gannon Funeral Home (152 East 28th Street - between 3rd and Lexington Avenues) on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and evening hours 7 p .m. to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated promptly at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Church of Saint Mary's, 440 Grand Street, New York, NY. Cremation will follow at The Green-Wood Cemetery Crematory.
